[/caption]Just moments ago, Hillary Clinton proposed a suspension of the rules, which was seconded overwhelmingly and passed. Senator Barack Obama is now the official nominee of the Democratic Party. WRGW was on the floor just steps away from the New York Delegation when Clinton appeared and made the proposal.
As the nominee, Obama was offered the opportunity to make an acceptance speech. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi annouced that Senator Obama accepted. Tomorrow an estimated 80,000 people will pack nearby Invesco Field to witness the most significant speech by a Democratic nominee in nearly 50 years.
