Volunteer opportunities are still available for the First Annual Freshman Day of Service, a day that will honor veterans this September 11 in University Yard.

Every member of the incoming freshman class will be asked to attend the day-long event designed to honor veterans on what will be the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Small group leaders and ushers are needed to help run the event, which is sponsored by The George Washington University and coordinated by The Office of Community Service.

Small group leaders must be available from 11am-8pm on Friday, September 11. Ushers must be available from 10am-1pm.

Small group leaders will be participating in training all day on Saturday September 5th.

Ushers will participate in the afternoon session of training only on September 5th.

To get involved contact Shannon Donahue, Freshman Service Coordinator, at shannond@gwu.edu
